Most of us spend the largest part of our waking hours at work. This means that we have that many hours to make Him known each day…to coworkers, customers, colleagues, and even strangers.

I say “make Him known” all the time, and by that, I do not mean walking around with sandwich boards proclaiming REPENT! THE END IS NEAR!

Truly, every moment we interact with anyone–or are even observed by someone, or touched someone through a gesture–is an opportunity to make Him known. But, who has ever won another over by shoving their beliefs in their face?

By “make Him known,” I mean that we become a reflection of Him. They see Him when they see us. They hear Him when we speak. They see us changed…that we’ve put on the new self and are new because of Him.

In terms of words, a Patheos article by the Theology of Work Project expands on blessing others with our words:

1. Express welcome
2. Eliminate blame shifting
3. Reconcile broken relationships
4. Be careful not to judge
5. Show appreciation

So, let us make Him known in word and deed. The curious will be drawn from their unwitting darkness to His light that we reflect. And that, my friends, is truly wonderful work to do here on this earth for the Lord, that we can do anywhere, no matter what our earthly job description is!
