Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you. -Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV)
If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. -Matthew 16:24 (NKJV)
Have you ever prayed and prayed about surrendering all of your life to God–every care and worry–and find there’s always that one thing that you just can’t let go of? It might be a struggle with a person. It might be a specific outcome that you just want to happen, or not to happen.
It’s that one last thing that you’re grasping onto.
It’s times like these where our faith is truly tested. We want certain things to happen sometimes, or for people to do or say certain things, that we feel are for the best. But this is where we have to trust God with the outcome, and the steps that lead to that outcome.
This is where we sit back, let go trying to control the outcome, praise God, and let Him hold us. This is where our Heavenly Father asks us to trust Him with the outcome, just as we sure our own children when we cradle them that all will work out for the best.
Now, it’s our turn to trust. God has shown in scripture over and over how he takes his children, so now it’s time to let him take care of us, too.

One of my favorite songs, “Just Be Held” by Casting Crowns, asks us to let go and let God take over.
