But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. -Job 23:10 (NKJV)

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. -Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

We often stop to look at where we are and what we’ve done, then look back and review our lives. Sometimes we look back in regret, or with joy, or a mix of both. The amazing truth is that God uses all of the events that happened and choices made to His glory. Just look at the life of Joseph!

Every trial, every mistake, every victory, every step and path taken, God uses to achieve His purposes, to His glory. Don’t be discouraged when you look back at what you could’ve or should’ve done. He used it all to make you stronger and wiser today. Every single one of those things…every choice and path you took…made you who you are right now, in this very moment.

So don’t ever look back in regret. Say goodbye to yesterday, but continue to pray and surrender your dreams to God…because surrendered dreams aren’t dashed dreams. The younger you led to the you today: stronger, wiser, closer to God. You couldn’t have arrived where you are today without where you’ve been yesterday. And with Christ as your strength, you can and will persevere and overcome…and come forth as gold, to His glory.
