The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. -2 Samuel 22:2-4 (NKJV)
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. -Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV)
Sometimes, the attacks you will face are relentless. And it feels like the enemy knows that you’re getting worn down, and will fall to your knees if the attacks continue.
At the time of this writing, this website has been subjected to at least a week of what’s known as brute force attacks, day and night. The attack methodology is simple: a person or program repeatedly attempts different login usernames and passwords to break into the site. Even when the attempts are unsuccessful, the increased traffic and memory load on the server can cause it to go down. And, occasionally, this site has indeed gone down.
I take this as a sign that the adversary is increasing the intensity of his attacks because the reach of this site continues to grow. The work being done here in God’s name grows, so the enemy is out there to discourage and destroy.
He will fail.
God’s truth always prevails, and it is our duty as believers to not buckle or compromise under duress.
Have you recognized this pattern in your life? After trudging through long, rocky stretches of darkness, it is when a glimmer of hope appears that Satan will do his best to keep you from going to the light. Don’t fall for it!
The Lord is indeed our refuge. He goes before us and behind us. And He has equipped us with the full armor of God so that we can still remain standing after the onslaught. God will prevail through us, His children, walking through hailstorms that unbelievers cannot understand we are able to endure.
We can do all things through Him who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). In our relationships, battles, and lives, we can tell the enemy to do his worst, because we can take it…because we have the Lord of All on our side!
