Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. -Psalms 100:3 (NKJV)

We all have our stories to tell, our testimonies we can tell, are telling, and will tell. We have past pains and scars, terrible valleys and storms we’re just trying to survive now, and future trials that await us.

Don’t let the prosperity gospel preachers fool you into thinking that if you follow Jesus, life will be a magic carpet ride, and money and comfort will coddle you during your stay on this earth. Far from it. Jesus plainly told us that in this world we will have our trials, but to not be discouraged:

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. -John 16:33 (NIV)

Every one of us is either going through, or knows someone going through, horrific trials of faith and spiritual attack. To us all, may we always remember that the God of Noah, the God of Abraham, the God of Jacob/Israel, the God of David, the God who sent His only begotten Son here to save those who would listen, is with and for us always.

As He has shown over and over in Scripture, He can use all things, no matter how terrible, for the good of His children, according to His will and timing. The Lord is our shepherd (Psalm 23), and we trust in His guidance.

He made us, and we are His. Thank you, Lord, for your lovingkindness and provision through all the seasons of our lives.
