And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
We live in a world where atheism, masked as political correctness, is doing its best to move God out of His rightful front and center of our minds. Because of this, believers need to support one another to not let such thinking seep in…because the next thing you know, you start doubting your position. The world frames us as backward, and we will believe it if we don’t keep each other supported.
Fellowship is crucial to spurring each other on, in all circles of our lives. In our homes and at church, it’s easier to fellowship more openly about following Christ, but in the workplace, we can still do so in our collective actions and words, reflecting God’s light and mercy.
Each passing day is another day closer to eternity…and another day closer to His coming. I think to myself sometimes: If I treated every day, whether it be a work day or personal day, as my last day before His coming, how might I change my thoughts, words, and deeds? Where could I improve?
We all fall short of God’s glory, but God works through each of us, and when we bolster each other in fellowship, God can do some amazing things through us to His glory. Let us play together, pray together, laugh together, and cry together…but in all things and times, giving God thanks and praise in fellowship.
