It may sound strange, but it is a privilege for us to be in the presence of so many who are hurting. We all have our pains and frustrations in life. Not only does God put us right where we need to be, so we can minister to others and be ministered to by others, but He also gives us the chance to see patterns in other people’s lives. These patterns can help us understand the work He’s doing through us.
Life is really an amazing journey, full of the metaphorical mountaintops and valleys, and the perspective from those high and low vantage points–and all in between–give us just an inkling of God’s design for our lives. It’s such a privilege to be a part of His plans!
Stop the blame game
“…For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future….” -Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
His plans for us are good. We just need to obediently flourish in our stations, and He will come through in His perfect timing, as always.
We are not victims of life and our circumstances. We’re not passive bystanders who watch life and point the finger at others when we can very well take part and effect change. While we pass through this world and wait on the Lord for His next great assignment for us, we are active in our participation. God has stationed us right where we need to be for His purposes, which is truly a privilege and honor.
Never stop seeking
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. -Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
As we walk, climb, and even stumble, we should never stop seeking Him…looking for Him and His work in everything…especially when times are tough. He will use all things for the good of His children who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Don’t ever stop thirsting…Jesus is the living water which we need!
Keep moving, and never give up
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
Because God is with us no matter where we are, we are in His care. We can face any situation without fear, no matter how uncomfortable it may be to our flesh minds and hearts. We don’t have to stress, because we can put it all on His shoulders.
So keep moving, and never give up. Hold fast to His promises, especially through the worst of times. We’re soldiers…spiritual warriors and overcomers through Christ. We are on an amazing journey He’s got planned for us. Oh, the places you’ll go! The longer you go, the more He will reveal to you, and the stronger you and your faith will become. Let’s go!
