For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. -Mark 10:45 (NKJV)
“I deserve better.”
“My life sucks.”
Ever said any of those things?
Can you imagine how Jesus must’ve felt, to have the weight of the entire sin of humanity on His shoulders? Even He asked His Father to take this cup from Him if it were in His will!
Jesus paid for our sins on the cross, and our lives are a sacrifice to His honor and glory while we walk this earth. And as He ultimately served us, we serve Him by being an extension of His love.
St. Teresa of Avila wrote this beautiful poem. It is truly our honor to serve Him!
Christ Has No Body
Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
