I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. (Psalm 34:1 NIV)
Yes, worship of the loving God is man’s whole reason for existence. -A.W. Tozer
The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day. -E.M. Bounds
Our purpose here on this earth is to glorify the Lord in our walk. Our walk is in thought, word, and deed. And prayer encompasses all three.
In the ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) prayer model, adoration is the first. Before we mention anything else in talking to God, we praise Him.
Who else created us in His image? Who else uses us as part of His larger plans to bless this world? Who else loves us unconditionally, despite our sinful selves? Who else carries us through all our trials?
So, we give glory to God in the highest, and in all circumstances, from the highest mountaintop to the deepest, darkest valley! He is always with us and for us!
Prayer
Father God,
As always, we come before you with thanks and praise. We adore and exalt you, Father.
We pray for You to be glorified through our walk in our valleys; for it to be seen in our feeble hindsight that You gave us victoriousness in our climb; that we arrived at the victorious future we saw no way could be attained (but You made the way!); and that we praise You the entire journey, for Your victory was won before we ever started!
We are forever grateful for your inestimable sacrificial love for us. Help us to live in a manner worthy of the calling you have placed on our lives.
We love and praise you, and in Jesus’ holy and powerful name we pray.
Amen.
