It’s the day after Election Day here in the United States, and this country is highly polarized and divided down the middle.
Voters here in the States knew that it would be the end of the world if their preferred candidate’s opponent were elected. But eight years ago, that was the same prediction from the supporters of the losing party…and the same prediction eight years before that.
In truth, God is sovereign over all people, leaders (even the ones we support and don’t support), and outcomes. He can and does use all of them for His higher purposes. The scope and length of His plans–and the players in it–may not be to our liking, but we can trust His plans for us are good.
Because of God’s will–and no one else’s–the sun shines again, and we will draw new breath to show Him praise in how we travel steadily (eyes on Him!) no matter how much the world around us tells us the sky is falling.
