From flawed to flawless

ps-57-1-500sq> Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. -Psalm 51:7

When I confessed them to the Father, Jesus Christ washed them in His blood. They are now cast into the deepest sea and a sign is put up that says, NO FISHING ALLOWED. -Corrie ten Boom

We all have things in our past we wish we could have never happened, or take back. And sometimes, it eats away at us from the inside as our minds replay those memories like movies in our heads. And we start sinking in quicksand, getting pulled deeper and deeper as we struggle against condemnation and guilt.

Heck, it might be something that just happened in the last hour or day!

When you go there, revisiting the past, you’re falling into a foggy trance that the enemy would love to suspend you in forever. When you’re in it, you’re not glorifying God. You’re walking in the flesh again.

It’s your identity in Christ that will snap you out of it! The blood of the Lamb washed away the sins of the world, and you are made righteous only by His grace.

Oh, in His eyes, seeing you in your finished state, you gleam! You shine! You are light in the darkness!

No matter what you’ve done, you are freely forgiven. Confess and repent of the guilt and sin burdens you carry. Ask God for His forgiveness, and He will surely cast your sins away from you as far as the east is from the west.

Take up Jesus’ easy yoke and light burden once more, eyes fixed on the Lord above, and you’re back on track. What an amazing God we have, whose love and grace and forgiveness are infinitely greater than our mistakes!

Today’s soundtrack

“Flawless” by MercyMe reminds us how His love and forgiveness is greater than anything we have ever done.
